I remember, maybe two to three months ago, I ran into Beth at the post office (we are acquaintances) and it struck me, without anything more than a casual conversation, that this is an open soul. I was struck enough that I sent her a message stating so. What does that mean anyways, to have an “open soul?”
To me, an open soul is a person who is open to reality, to life happening to her without as much of a need to defend herself from reality as most people. An open soul, to me, is a person who can enter into life with the wound of need, with the wound of being dependent, without having to cover up this need that constitutes our being. My experience is that this is only possible when a person knows that there is an answer to their need and that the answer they need will come because they are loved. This is the heart of what I try to communicate in my imagery, this truth of a person.
I met Aaron and Beth at their new home for their session, and it was really wonderful getting to spend an hour with these two people being open to each other and dependent with each other. This session was my pleasure.

As a side note, how many times did the cat make a cameo?
Beth and Aaron, thank you.
Beautiful. I can’t really see the images on the phone, but fell in love with your writing. So true.
