Barry + Debbie :: Married | Minnesota Wedding Photographers at Chase on the Lake

Barry and Debbie, what a beautiful wedding.  After the monsoons of Minnesota plagued the state for three straight weeks, Barry and Debbie’s wedding day had wonderful weather.  Wonderful weather combined with the amazing Chase on the Lake in Walker, MN, Leech Lake and Barry’s family’s property made for a terrific wedding setting.

I met Barry and Debbie when they came up for their engagement session, of which there are a few images in my gallery (here and here), about a year ago.  After their engagement session, I knew I was going to love their wedding as well.

On their wedding day my attention was constantly drawn to a paradox of life, or a least what seems like a paradox until you experience it, that our vulnerability towards each other is the only true foundation for happiness.  On their wedding day, the times when Barry and Debbie were together their hearts opened to life: to their friends, to their families, to me.  It seems to me that this happened because they knew that there was one person there (Debbie for Barry and Barry for Debbie)  who accepted them completely and totally and in this way they could be open to everybody else in a beautiful way.  The moments when they came together, it was like some of the weight of life was lifted by the other person’s presence.  Perhaps this is a sign, an indication of true love.

Debbie and Barry, thank you so much.
