It was one of the first really nice, warm days of spring this year when I met Nick and Kirsten at Madden’s Resort for their engagement session. Both recent graduates (technically Nick was about 3 weeks away from graduation yet), it was great to meet this couples with the adventure of life still fully in front of them. What a year they are going to have, graduation from college, marriage, start careers, moving, life is full to the brim with so much promise and hope, so much expectation!
This is the essence of the engagement in my view. A time of planning and expectation that is a completely unique moment in a person’s life, so full of promise and hope and therefore so full of attention to life.
On a photography Facebook group I participate in a few people recently commented on how they started in photography and why. Many people commented on how the thrill of a first camera or seeing the work of a certain photographer made the connection for them that they wanted to be a photographer. For me it was a little different. This is what I wrote:
I just know I love the access to the intimacy of relationships that make life have meaning and truth. Photography is my key to access this beauty.
Nick and Kirsten, your love is beautiful.
Kirsten, Nick, you guys just look so happy together and I am very very very happy for you Kirsten! I just want to wish you both: respect each other, be understanding and tolerant and love each other no matter what for you love, as photographer have mentioned already, is truly beautiful !!!
