The gravel crackles under your tires as you pull up and park under the majestic white pines that shade the entire Manhattan Beach Lodge property. The log railings from the parking lot up to the lodge set the stage for your visit to Big Trout Lake at the top of Minnesota's most beautiful chain of lakes, the Whitefish Chain of Lakes.  

The lodge is a combination of luxury, relaxation and fun.

Should you decide to arrive by boat or floatplane (there's an uncanny coincidence of the presence of floatplanes moored to the docks when I visit the resort) you will be greeted with a grand view of the entire lodge flanked by grand white pines, a manicured lawn, and laughter of guests enjoying the staffs hospitality on the patio bar.  There are multiple docks that are consistently occupied by various pontoons, ski boats, fishing boats and cigar boats.

As a wedding venue it is particularly great as you get the entire facility to yourself: the dock, lawn, patio, restaurant, garden room, lodge, restaurant, everything!  It is one of the only wedding venues in the Brainerd Lakes Area that completely closes down for your event. So many guests at weddings I've been photographing mention how unbelievable and privileged it is to have a private event (no other guests) at such a terrific location.
