From Antlers Pavilion to the Shore of Pelican Lake

Antlers Pavilion looks toward Whitebirch Golf Course; Point Lawn brings the ceremony beside Pelican Lake. Those settings call for different plans, from the ceremony start time to the route for portraits. I help work the photography around the spaces you have booked.

The resort’s scale gives you options, but it also makes travel time part of the day. We choose a few useful portrait locations near your ceremony and reception rather than trying to visit every corner of the property.

If you're also touring Grand View Lodge in Nisswa or Madden's on Gull Lake, I photograph at all three — happy to compare notes on how the day runs at each.

I’m Tim Larsen, a documentary and editorial wedding photographer based in the Brainerd Lakes area. At Breezy Point, I plan for the change from the pavilion or lawn to your reception room, while staying attentive to the people around you.

If you feel nervous about portraits, I will help you with where to stand, where to look and what to do with your hands. A short session near the lake can fit between the events you have planned. During the ceremony and reception, I follow what happens and photograph the reactions as well as the main events.

The Light

Working With the Birch Trees, Pavilion and Lake

The Point Lawn’s birch trees frame views of Pelican Lake, while Antlers Pavilion provides a covered setting toward the golf course. I check the conditions in the locations we are using and plan portrait positions around the available light.

The Lakeside Ballroom’s windows keep the lake in view during the reception. Weather, season and room setup affect the light, so I plan for the room as it is and adjust any evening portrait break to your date.

This 12-hour summer example runs from 10 AM to 10 PM and uses a 4 PM Antlers Pavilion ceremony. We will tailor the spaces, portrait timing and coverage to your date.
