Pine Peaks Wedding & Event Center is an 80-acre private estate near Crosslake, with a Pine River postal address. Gardens, pine groves, ponds and open pasture offer outdoor ceremony and portrait settings. The Great Hall, Fireside Tavern and Retreat House bring the celebration and preparations together on the property.

The variety gives us choices without needing to photograph in every corner of the estate. We plan a portrait route around your ceremony, the season and the places you want to spend time.

I'm Tim Larsen — a documentary and editorial wedding photographer based in the Brainerd Lakes area. At Pine Peaks, I balance time outdoors with the preparations and celebration happening inside. The setting matters, and so does being there when your people gather.

During editorial portraits, I give you clear direction and choose a route that fits the light, weather and your comfort. You do not need to know what to do in front of the camera. Outside that portrait time, I follow the ceremony, conversations and reception as they unfold.

Portrait Light at Pine Peaks

The gardens and open areas change with the season and time of day. I choose portrait locations after looking at the direction of the light, the weather and the ground conditions, with indoor options in the plan.

If evening light is part of your plan, we set aside a short portrait break near sunset on your wedding date. Garden color depends on what is in bloom. The indoor spaces give us other options when the weather changes or it is time to return to the reception.
